Nothing brings winter together like sculpting a snowman together. It would seem that what can go wrong here? And yet, even in such a simple winter fun there are subtleties. Here are a few simple rules that will help you mold great snowmen and enjoy the process.

Building material on special order
Do not rush immediately run outside to mold snowmen, as soon as the first snow has fallen. Dry fluffy snow mass is not suitable for this activity. Snow should be loose and moderately moist. It’s easy to check. Roll a small snowball in your gloves. If it turns out to be dense and the right shape, you can safely go to work.
A workshop for working in the swing of things
Choose a snow-covered area with plenty of room to spare. After all, you will have to roll large balls. It is desirable that the thickness of the snow cover was not less than 8-10 cm, otherwise the snowman will turn out small and with flecks of dirt. Install the snowman in the shade – in the rays of the sun he will quickly melt, even being surrounded by snowdrifts. For the same reason, you should not plant a snowman on the asphalt.
The art of rolling balls
First mold a small snowball, and then start rolling it around in the snow in different directions. If you roll it only forward, you will get a cylinder instead of a ball. Don’t forget about proportions and don’t get carried away by the size. Remember that the rolled second ball will be placed on top of the first one. To keep it securely, level and slightly tamp the bottom ball, making a small platform for the second ball.
Strengthening the body and mind
In a strong gust of wind, the snowman can fall apart. To avoid this, reinforce the structure. Take some more snow and firmly tamp the snow balls together. Then flatten the uneven protruding areas with your mittened hands to make them invisible.
Snowman with a human face
It remains to give the snowman an attractive appearance. Limbs are best built from twigs or twigs, eyes and mouth – from pebbles, and nose – from carrots. However, you can deviate from the canons and bring from home decorative eyes for crafts, drawing them eyelashes and eyebrows. Instead of a bucket on the head you can put an old knitted cap or felt hat. It is great if you have worn mittens, scarves, scarves, headbands, scarves, caps and other accessories. In the hands of a snowman you can give a broom or improvised ski poles.
These simple recommendations will help you remember forgotten skills, and the matter will go much more fun. Don’t deny yourself the pleasure of feeling like a child again – make your own snowman as a family and energize others with positivity.
